Original article: contribution to disseminate findings of scientific research. The authors’ creativity and style in the manuscript format will be respect, provided that the content addresses the introduction, methods, results, discussion and conclusion. The introduction should be brief, define the research problem and its importance, besides highlighting the knowledge gap – "state of the art" and the study objectives. The method used should be defined, as well as the context/population studied, the data sources and sample selection criteria, the analysis processes, among others. These should be describe comprehensive and completely. In qualitative research, the description of the analysis process should address the details of the specific study steps, beyond the simple indication of the type of analysis applied. The information should be included that the research was conducted in accordance with the ethical standards required. The results should be described in a logical order. When using illustrations (tables, figures and pictures), the text should complement instead of repeat the content they contain. The discussion should be separated from the results and should contain comparisons between the results and the literature, the authors’ interpretation, the implications of the findings, the limitations and implications for future research. New and important aspects of the study should be emphasized. The conclusions should respond to the study objectives, without deviating from the data found. No bibliographic references should be cited. The total length of the article is limited to 15 pages, including abstract, tables and figures and excluding the references.
Experience report or Technological innovation: description of teaching practices, extension or assistance, or description of technological innovation products experiences. The content should address the introduction, method, experience results or innovation and conclusion. Its length is limited to 10 pages, including the abstract, tables and figures, and excluding the references.
Reflection: article to express opinions or analyze aspects that can contribute to go deeper into themes related to the health and nursing area. The content should address the introduction, reflection and conclusion. Its length is limited to 12 pages, including the abstract and excluding the references.
Literature Review: study that identifies, analyzes and synthesizes results of independent studies on a certain subject. Included in this category are: systematic review with and without meta-analysis, integrative review and scoping review. Its length is limited to 20 pages, including the abstract, tables, pictures and references.
Letter to the Editor: brief text aimed at promoting intellectual discussion on a given article recently published in the journal (up to 90 days). It is published at the exclusive criterion of the Editorial Board, with the corresponding response when pertinent.
Publication guidelines and prior registrations
Texto & Contexto Enfermagem supports the clinical trial registration policies of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), recognizing the importance of these initiatives for the international registration and dissemination of information on clinical trials in open access. Therefore, only clinical research manuscripts that have received an identification number in one of the Clinical Trial Registries validated by the criteria established by WHO and ICMJE, and whose addresses are available on the ICMJE website, will be accepted for publication. The identification number should be recorded at the end of the abstract.

Texto & Contexto Enfermagem recommends the prospective recording of the systematic review protocol in a recognized database (such as PROSPERO, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Open Science Framework, and Research Registry). The main items of the review protocol are recorded and maintained permanently. Systematic reviews must be recorded at the beginning (i.e., in the protocol development phase) to help avoid unplanned duplication of studies and to allow for the comparison of the published review methods with what was previously planned in the protocol.
Texto & Contexto Enfermagem advocates initiatives aimed at improving the presentation of results of scientific studies by encouraging authors to use international guidelines in the preparation of articles of randomized clinical trials, systematic reviews, meta-analyzes, observational studies in epidemiology and qualitative studies. International guides are composed of checklist and flowcharts published in international declarations. Its use in preparing the manuscript may increase the potential for publication and, once published, increase the use of the reference in subsequent research.

In the English and Spanish versions, translation studies and instrument validation studies should preserve the instrument items in Portuguese, the language in which the study was carried out.
Authors
The concept of authorship adopted by Texto & Contexto Enfermagem is guided by the substantial contribution of each of the individuals listed as an author, which concerns, above all, the design and planning of the research project, the obtaining or analysis and interpretation of the data, the writing and critical review. The number of authors is limited to eight. The possibility of including more authors in multicentric studies will be examined by considering the pertinence of the justifications presented.
The inclusion of the names of authors whose contribution is in disagreement with the above criteria is not justified and may, in this such case, they can be included in the Acknowledgments. The request to inclusion of new authors after the submission process has been initiated must be duly justified and agreed upon by all the authors.

Copyright and Publication Authorization
Authors must assign the patrimonial copyrights of the article to Texto & Contexto Enfermagem by means of the Declaration of responsibility and transfer of copyright signed by all authors: according to model 3.
Manuscripts presented in events (congresses, symposia, seminars, among others) may be accepted, provided they have not been fully published in annals. Manuscripts previously published in foreign journals may be accepted, provided it is approved by the Executive Council Texto & Contexto Enfermagem and authorized by the periodical in which the manuscript was originally published in. This guideline is valid for complete articles, article excerpts and illustrations. It is the responsibility of the authors to request this authorization in writing. The manuscript submitted to Texto & Contexto Enfermagem for analysis must not have been submitted or published simultaneously in another journal.
Conflict of interest
Public trust in the peer review process and the credibility of published articles depend on how the conflict of interest is handled during writing, peer review, and editorial decision making. Conflicts of interest may be personal, commercial, political, academic or financial. Financial relationships such as employment, consultations, possession of shares, fees, testimony or expert opinion are more easily identifiable conflicts of interest and have a greater chance of undermining the credibility of the journal, authors and science itself. However, conflicts may occur for other reasons, such as personal relationships, academic competition, and intellectual passion.
Authors are responsible for acknowledging and disclosing conflicts of interest that may influence their work, and should report them. In individual statements during the manuscript submission process on ScholarOne system. The editors and reviewers should also acknowledge and disclose potential conflicts of interest that may influence their work during evaluation of a manuscript. In this case, a new editor or reviewer will be designated.
Ethical Considerations
Texto & Contexto Enfermagem follows the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) ( http://publicationethics.org/).
Manuscripts resulting from research involving human subjects should indicate whether the procedures followed the Declaration of Helsinki (1964, reformulated in 1975, 1983, 1989, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008), in addition to complying with specific legislation (if any) of the country in question where the research was carried out. All study participants must have signed an Informed Consent Form. This means that any individual participants in research studies have the right to decide to participate or not, and what happens to the identifiable personal data after data collection. It includes all type of data, to what they have said during a study, interview or a focus groups as well as to any photograph that may be taken.
The manuscripts should aim at including representative human populations (gender, age and ethnicity) according to these recommendations. The terms sex and gender must be used properly. For original articles resulting from research conducted in Brazil, they should comply with the Resolution No. 466, of December 12, 2012, and Resolution No 516, of July 03, 2016 of the National Health Council. When dealing with research results, authors must attach a copy of the approval issued by the Research Ethics Committee and mention the project approval number by the Committee in the title page and, for Brazilian manuscripts, the Certificate of Presentation for Ethical Consideration (CAAE). It is not necessary to include the Resolution as a reference of the manuscript.
In order to ensure that the manuscripts submitted by members of Texto & Contexto Editorial Board are reviewed without bias, they undergo a blind evaluation by the editors on the ScholarOne system. Likewise, manuscripts by authors linked to UFSC are sent to the external reviewers for a blind and bias-free evaluation.
Process for the identification and treatment of research misconduct allegations
The editorial practice for cases of scientific misconduct (plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data falsification or fabrication, improper use of references or citations, duplicity, and authorship dispute, among others) follows the Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors do Committee on Publication Ethics(COPE) (http://publicationethics.org/).
Verification of the text authenticity is performed through the application of the CrossRef Similarity Check - iThenticate software. Academic plagiarism, at any level, is a crime. It violates Brazilian law in article 184 of the Criminal Code, and article 7, third paragraph, of Law 9.610, of February 19, 1998, which regulates copyright, constituting civil and criminal matters.
Corrections, Retractions, Republications, and Manuscript Version Control
The Texto & Contexto Enfermagem Journal use the Recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) to best practices and ethical standards for the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly work in medical journals.
Honest errors are a part of science and publishing and require publication of a correction when they are detected. Errors serious enough to invalidate a paper's results and conclusions may require retraction. When scientific misconduct is alleged, or concerns are otherwise raised about the conduct or integrity of work described in submitted or published papers, the editor will initiate appropriate procedures following the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines( http://publicationethics.org/resources/flowcharts).
License of use
For the use of the article in open access, Texto & Contexto Enfermagem adopts the CC-BY attribution type Creative Commons License. This license allows others to distribute, adapt and create based on their work, even for commercial purposes as long as they attribute the due credit of the original creation to the author and confer due publication credits to Texto & Contexto Enfermagem Journal. The articles are available in full and free open access exclusively on the SciELO webpage.
Long-term preservation
Archiving to preserve access to the entire content of Texto & Contexto Enfermagem is carried out by means of electronic backup through SciELO, which participates in the CLOCKSS Archive for digital preservation.
Rules and instructions for submitting manuscripts
Manuscripts that do not meet the formatting set forth in Texto & Contexto rules can be submitted for initial evaluation. However, initial submission of the manuscript must follow the scientific article standard and include all the submission files necessary for review. The articles reviewed or with final acceptance will be formatted by the authors according to Texto & Contexto specific requirements (standards for the references, tables, figures, etc.).
Manuscript preparation: manuscript and structure of texts
For manuscript submission, the authors must compose two documents: 1) Identification page; and 2) Main document
should contain title of the manuscript (short but informative, maximum of 15 words in bold uppercase), in the original language only; full name of each author, and active ORCID identification number institutional affiliation, city, state, country, e-mail; name, full address, and e-mail of the corresponding author.
Original text of the manuscript: extracted from thesis, dissertation, thesis, research projects, informing the title of the work, linked program and year of the presentation.
Acknowledgements: include institutions that somehow made possible the development of the research and/or people who contributed to the study but did not fulfill the criteria to serve as co-authors.
Contribution of authorship: The criteria should correspond to the deliberations of the ICMJE, to the following aspects: 1. Conception and project, collection analysis, interpretation of the data and active participation in the discussion of the results; 2. Writing of the article or relevant critical review of the intellectual content; 3. Revision and Final approval of the version for publication. These four conditions should be fully attended to.
Financing Sources: Inform the name of public or private institutions that have provided financial support, technical assistance and other aid.
Approval of Ethics Committee in Research: to inform the Ethics Committee's Research opinion number and the Certificate of Presentation for Ethical Appreciation (CAAE), when research involving human beings.
Conflict of interests: relate, if any, conflicts of interest of all authors.
2) Manuscript (Main Document) (Model 2)
The manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the journal’s editorial standards, written in accordance with official spelling standards and typed on numbered A4 pages with interlining of 1.5 cm, margins of 2 cm. The font used should be Arial size 12, elaborated in Word or a compatible word processor.

Observation: The manuscript should be forwarded in the primary author’s language of origin. If the manuscript was written in English and the authors are Brazilian, the manuscript should also be forwarded in Portuguese for the editorial team of Texto & Contexto Enfermagem to assess the quality of the translation.
Abstract: the abstract must be presented on the first page, only in the manuscript language, with a maximum length of 250 words. The following headings should be used: objective(s), method, results and conclusion. Clinical trials and systematic reviews must present the registration number of the respective protocol at the end of the abstract. Prohibited items in the abstract: acronyms and citations of authors.
Descriptors: Below the abstract, include five to eight descriptors in the original language. In order to determine the descriptors, consult the list of Descriptors in Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS), prepared by BIREME and available on the Internet at http://decs.bvs.br or the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) of Index Medicus available on the https://www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/meshhome.html.
Headings: the text should be organized without progressive numbers for titles and subtitles, which should be distinguished by means of the font size. For example:

Illustrations
Tables, charts and figures should be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals, in the order they are cited in the text, being limited to five in a set. Configured in the same text font, with single spacing between lines, bold only in the header, upper box only at the beginning of the variable, except tables and charts, all other illustrations should be designated as figures.

Charts
They should present the information in discursive form and should be displayed as follows:

informative, concise and clear title, expressing the content and located at the top part of the picture;

differs from the tables mainly because they contain textual data, are closed at the sides and gridlines;

avoid long tables extending over more than one page;

when the picture was taken from another authorship, the source should be cited in a footnote. If any legend is included, use the same format as in the tables and place the legend before the source of the picture, on a different line.
Figures: should not repeat the data shown in texts or tables. In addition to being included in the text, they should be sent separately and in necessary quality for publication. If they are extracted from another source, published or unpublished, the authors must send written permission for their use. They must contain a legend, and when necessary a source, when it is extracted from published work, which must be included in the references.

Photographs should be mentioned in the same form as the tables and the title follows the same orientations as for the pictures.
Citations in the text
Indirect citations should contain the number of the reference they were taken from, esxluding the name of the author. The punctuation (point, comma or semicolon) should appear after the number in superscript, without any space between the final stop and the citation number. Example: the workers also use non-verbal language7.
When the citations from two or more authors are presented sequentially in the reference (for example, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5), superscript should be used, separated by a hyphen. Example: established the principles of good administration, adopting the classical view of the manager’s functions1-5.
Direct citations (textual transcription) should be displayed in the body of the text between inverted commas, indicating the reference number and citation page, independently of the number of lines. Example: [...] “the West emerged in front of us like this infernal machine that crushes men and cultures for unwise purposes”1:30-31.
Verbatim citations from qualitative research are displayed in italics, in the body of the text, identifying authorship between parentheses and respecting anonymity. The identification of authorships should be displayed without italics. Example: [...] involving students and professionals more in social projects, getting to know the community problems more (e7).
Footnotes: the text should contain three footnotes at most, indicated by: * first note, ** second note, *** third note.
References
The references should be consecutively numbered in the order in which they appear in the text for the first time, in accordance with the Uniform Requisites of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors - ICMJE. Journal titles should be abbreviated according to the List of Journals Indexed in Index Medicus.
The number of references in the manuscripts is limited to 30, except in Literature Review articles.
Special attention is needed to: recent references (preferably from the last five years); priority of references to articles published in scientific journals; citations in English of references available online in that language; restrict the use of references the reader cannot recover in the original version and/or whose scientific impact cannot be measures (dissertations, theses, course conclusion monographs, handouts, annals, decrees and official publications) or works of limited scientific expression.
All references should be displayed correct and completely. The author(s) is(are) fully responsible for the veracity of the information in the reference list.
In case any bibliographic reference management software is used (e.g.: EndNote), the authors should convert the references into text.
Gray literature: citations of unconventional, non-indexed, non-indexed, non-ISBNs, ISSN, ISAN or DOI publications should be avoided (theses, dissertations, course papers, handouts, official publications).
Manuscripts extracted from theses, dissertations and TCCS should not cite the original work in the references. This information should be entered on the identification page.
Errata: after article publication, if the authors identify the need for an erratum, they should send it immediately to the Journal's Secretariat by e-mail.
